How Good Is The Vital Arena App?

Every day, I find myself pondering just how problematic this app really is. What are the issues that make it so dreadful? Are there any redeeming qualities to it? That’s why I decided to gauge the community’s sentiment towards the Vital Arena app. What I discovered was a deep rabbit hole filled with quite a few negative comments.

Negative feedback ranges from connectivity problems during battles to sluggish app loading speeds. Surprisingly, many of these complaints haven’t received any response from Bandai. When I voiced my concerns about app speeds on Twitter, I received a reply about server locations. According to the response, the servers are situated in Japan, which is why users outside of Japan experience slow connections. They suggested that using a VPN set to Japan could improve speeds, but personally, I believe users shouldn’t have to resort to this. Bandai should consider having servers in various locations to provide better service to all users.

Understanding the server location clarifies most speed and connectivity issues users face. It also explains the app’s slow loading times, as it frequently checks with the server, even during startup.

One effective solution to these problems would be for Bandai to establish multiple servers in the most popular regions. This could significantly enhance the app’s speed upon launch. Bandai’s support response, which states, “We do not ban the use of our app in unsupported areas, but we are afraid it has not been checked if they will work properly or not in unsupported areas,” comes across as generic and insufficient. It’s important to remember that the Vital Hero is an integral part of the Vital Arena app, and simply claiming they can’t support users outside of Japan is inaccurate, given that American users are compelled to use the Vital Arena app as it’s the sole app for the Vital Hero.

Another approach to speeding up the app would be to separate the Codex and battle features into two distinct apps. The Codex app could store information on the device, with a built-in backup feature, reducing the need for frequent server checks. This might seem like a drastic measure compared to simply adding more servers in popular locations.

The Vital Arena app has struggled to shine in the shadow of the VB Lab app, which users initially enjoyed. Bandai’s decision to bring app development in-house led to a revamp that altered many features, including how battles are conducted. While battles were impressive, they lacked the ability to support PvP.

In conclusion, if you’re in Japan, you likely won’t encounter connection, speed, or loading issues with this app. However, users in other regions may experience degraded performance. Unless Bandai recognizes the franchise’s profitability and the need for better support, American users of the Vital Hero should brace themselves for a bumpy ride while using the Vital Arena app.
